Twilight…

The mere mention of the word brings my blood to a boil; my pupils grow wide, the hair on the back of my neck prickles with excitement, and my heart rate speeds up to an R-Patz appropriate pace… and that’s a tame reaction when compared to the thousands of other blood-thirsty Cullen fans who find themselves counting down the days until New Moon hits theatres (Haha that was a joke… blood-thirsty… get it? Ahhhhh nevermind!).

Twilight fever has reached an all time pitch as the premiere of the second film in the multi-million dollar franchise creeps near, and so I thought it thoroughly appropriate to present to all of you pop-culture savy viewers out there this hilarious New Moon parody from the talented team at Take180.com. Aside from the shamelessly-included pitch for some cheesy kids flick that came out this summer, the clip is quite funny, as is pretty much anything staring the genious female comedian, Devon Kelly.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall…

It’s good to grow old in today’s society, especially since the advent of plastic surgery and Botox have revolutionized what and who we perceive to be beautiful. Gone are the days of witch-like old maids and socially shunned hags; there is no place in Western culture for the ugly or the wart infested.

But one can’t help but wonder what exactly sparked our obsession with youthful, dewy skin and wrinkle-free foreheads… Can we really blame new media for our drastically unrealistic expectations, or must we point the finger inwards and admit to our own sense of vanity?

Either way I find myself drawn to the exotic pots and bright colours which light up the makeup counters at department stores across the continent, in the never-ending search for self perfection; because if beauty is in the eye of the beholder, at the end of the day, I’m the one staring back at myself in the mirror… and DAMN do I look good!

A) I love Bear Grylls, and his ridiculous excuse for a nature-themed reality TV show.

B) I also love anything making fun of Bear Grylls and his ridiculous excuse for a nature-themed reality TV show – which is why I almost wet my pants at the hilarity of the video below.

From the masterminds at Collegehumour.com comes a fantastic parody of Man Vs. Wild, set in the wild frontier of a dorm-room bash. So get out your notepads, fellow adventurers and explorers, and try to jot down as many tips as possible, so that you too can avoid starvation and death the next time you crash a wild University party.

For all of those guys who roll into the club dripping with bedazzled Ed Hardy gear, let this video serve as a warning – nobody (aside from drunken girls with loose morals, among other things) likes a douche! So un-pop that collar, loose the tilted visor, and chuck the ‘tude to the curb… Or you could find yourself at the DOUCHE OFF FINALS!

MJ isn’t the only one who can THRILL you

Well, it’s October 1^st, which means that the month of gremlins, ghosts and goblins is officially upon us, and I am THRILLED! (See what I did there? This is a Thriller post and I used the word “thrilled” – don’t say my BA isn’t good for something) I’m just a little bit too old to go trick-or-treating these days (although I am the first to admit that I went out until I was 21 because, well, free candy is free candy), but that doesn’t mean that I can’t get into the ghoulish spirit of the season.

Now we all know that I am a major fan of spoofs, parodies and knock-offs – just take a look at pretty much any one of my posts – and I have to say that I think I have come across the greatest one of all time. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes upon the totally cheesy, high budget epic that is the Indian version of Michael Jackson’s Thriller. This knock-off is hilarious and frighteningly accurate, as everything from the majority of the dance moves, right down to the red leather ensemble worn by the Indian Michael, are all spot on. Check it out below; and if you feel like grooving to the original (and by grooving I mean dancing around in your bedroom in sync with the music), I’ve put that one up as well.
