  • I’m Into Celeb Endorsements
    by Anne T. Donahue

Alright, I know it's super lame to support celebrity endorsements, but can we talk about how fantastic this commercial for TMobile's myTouch is? Chevy Chase, Molly Shannon, Dana Carvey and Darrell Hammond joining forces alongside the music of Cat Stevens? CUTE! I get that the myTouch is not the iPhone. I get that it's not the Blackberry. I get that the only reason these comics agreed to plug this product is because of large cash payouts, but that didn't stop me from smiling and nodding in app...
  • I Don’t Know, Letterman.
    by Anne T. Donahue

Oh, David Letterman. Why?  Last night, in response to an extortionist's threat to expose "terrible things" about the funnyman, Letterman used his show as a forum to admit to numerous affairs with female staff members over the years. This is shocking for two reasons: 1) David Letterman has been with the same woman - his current wife and mother of his child - since the  mid-1990s. Although infedelity runs rampant through most of Hollywood, I couldn't help but hope the TV host and fam...
  • Save the Boobs!

All you breast men (and women) out there, this one's for you. MTV Canada's Aliya-Jasmine Sovani has come under fire recently for her appearance in (and production and art direction of) the following controversial "Save the Boobs!" campaign in support of Rethink Breast Cancer's annual fundraiser, Boobyball. Now, when I say "come under fire", I'm not fucking around. The PSA's been featured, dissected and debated by the likes of the View, ABC News, Good Morning America and CNN (to name ...
  • Matt Damon Hates Adrian Grenier
    by Anne T. Donahue
    Posted September 30th, 2009 at 12:03 pm
Well, not really. But in this staged PSA shoot (actually a promo for Matt's upcoming appearance on Entourage), Adrian is treated to a Christian Bale-esque verbal lashing from Damon the Director after failing to properly deliver his lines. Is it just me (it's not, because it's been universally established) or is Matt Damon getting progressively more amazing as time goes on? I mean, he was always the bomb, but after Sarah Silverman's epic "I'm Fucking Matt Damon" last year, he reached new h...
  • The Bitch is Back

To all you Hills fans, tonight's the night. You know what I'm talking about. Kristin Cavallari returns to the world of reality television to wreak havoc on the gilded lives of Audrina, Speidi, Stephanie and Lo; romancing Justin Bobby and belittling Brody Jenner, all with an evil laugh and the casual toss of her long extension-ridden hair. For everyone that lives under a rock - since I'm pretty sure 99% of the 15-35-year-old demographic knows about The Hills and can recite its roster by he...
  • SNL Goes HBO
    by Anne T. Donahue
    Posted September 28th, 2009 at 11:37 am
Another weekend, another newsworthy event. Well, that's if you define dropping the F-bomb on network television (read: NBC) as "newsworthy". Which I do. God, I love pop culture. During SNL's season premiere on Saturday, new Featured Player Jenny Slate injected a whole lot of badass into a mediocre-at-best sketch with Kristen Wiig by uttering the dreaded F-word in the midst of delivering her lines. Fucking hilarious. But her "Oh, shit!" expression afterwards? Fucking amazing. (Se...
  • The REAL Victims of Public Health Care
    by Anne T. Donahue

Going hand in hand with Francis' epic post regarding the Million White Man March (was anyone else overcome with rage about 3 seconds into the video? What the fuck is wrong with people?), I felt it my duty to further my uber-liberal/anti-White Man March agenda by acknowledging the political conflict regarding healthcare in the US - with a pop culture twist, obviously. So by now everyone knows that Obama appeared on Letterman, and as usual, he remained charming, well-spoken and good looking. ...
  • Emmy Recap Part 3: Funny People Win!
    by Anne T. Donahue
    Posted September 22nd, 2009 at 5:20 pm
I figure nothing's more appropriate for a comedic viral video site than to close my Emmy recap with an old fashioned hat-tip to comedy's darlings. That, and I have an admiration for both Tina Fey and Ricky Gervais that dare not speak its name. I might even change my name to Tina T. Gervais one day. Well, not actually, but you get the idea. As soon as Mr. Gervais took the stage, I was stoked. How could he possibly one-up the hilariousness of last year's presentation? . . . You remember it, ...
  • Emmy Recap Part 2: I’d Like to Thank the Academy…
    by Anne T. Donahue
    Posted September 22nd, 2009 at 12:58 pm
First of all, I'd like to thank the Academy for making the Emmys an actual blogworthy telecast. Not only did I expect to have to reach for Emmy recap material, I'm shocked to continually stumble across more videos that encompass the sweet-factor of the evening. Except for the nominees/win for Best Variety. I need to find that video, and it's been uploaded NOWHERE. Bastards. (*Note: If anyone stumbles across this gem, send a girl a link - I can reward you in written thanks and witty banter.) ...
  • Emmy Recap Part 1: I Love You, Neil Patrick
    by Anne T. Donahue
    Posted September 21st, 2009 at 1:45 pm
Was anybody else shocked that they actually found themselves enjoying the Emmys this year? I know, I know. More surprising than stumbling across a Kanye West blog with proper spelling and grammar. Let's discuss. So basically, Neil Patrick Harris is the man. I mean, not that I wasn't already aware, but after watching him kick ass at last night's Emmys, his status of "entertainment god"/"best host ever" has been cemented. Launching the ceremony with a wittier-than-thou opening number that s...
